"One thing have I asked of the Lord. That I will seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.”

- Psalm 27:4

The heart behind Daily Praise and Prayer was inspired by Psalm 27:4. In the midst of all the responsibilities King David had, he desired to be in the presence of God. The one thing above all things that David desired was to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of his life. This desire was not a momentary passion, but a lifetime goal. It was David's goal to remain in the personal presence of God every moment of his life. David prioritized the presence of God in his personal life.

Once David became king, he hired 4,000 full-time musicians and 288 music directors to have praise and worship day and night at the temple. Not only did David prioritize God’s presence in his personal life, he made it a priority of the nation of Israel. David was moved to prioritize praise and worship at the forefront of Israel’s calling.

We have been inspired by the life of David to provide a space of daily praise and prayer to prioritize God’s presence here in Southern California among the wider body of Christ.

  1. Pure adoration of Jesus. We want to adore Jesus by lifting up pure worship and praise to Him. Revelations 4:4-11 gives us a picture of what heavenly worship truly looks like. The 24 elders bow down, cast their crowns and lift up the lamb of God is who worthy to be praised.

  2. Personal renewal and revival. As people adore Jesus and lift up His name, we desire that they will be personally renewed and revived. Psalm 63:4 says, “I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer.” We want people to personally praise and pray to the Lord and be renewed in His Presence.

  3. Regional renewal and revival. As people get personally renewed, we want to pray and intercede for regional renewal. We believe that corporate worship and prayer has actual power to change the world. We believe corporate worship and prayer is a weapon of spiritual warfare. In 2 Chronicles 20:18-29, King Jehoshaphat positioned worship leaders to lead the way as Israel went to battle with neighboring enemies. As they worshipped, God intervened and gave them the victory. In Nehemiah, we can see that Nehemiah responded to the news of the exiles and broken walls of Jerusalem with fasting and prayer. His heart for God’s people combined with intercession and fasting resulted in him leading his people to rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem. In the same way, we hope to lead God’s people into corporate intercession and fasting for regional revival.

During each night, there will be live praise and worship for the entire two hours. Worship leaders will be adoring the Lord through praise and worship by lifting up the name of Jesus. Attendees are free to join with those leading worship or pray to God on their own. As there will be no preaching of the Word, attendees may read their Bibles during this time as well. We ask all attendees to keep fellowship and talking in the room to a minimum. Our heart’s desire is to set an atmosphere where people can come to be with God intimately.
