"One thing have I asked of the Lord. That I will seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.”

- Psalm 27:4

The heart behind Daily Praise and Prayer was inspired by Psalm 27:4. In the midst of all the responsibilities King David had, his one desire was to be in the presence of God. Above all else, King David desired to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of his life. This desire was not a momentary passion but a lifetime goal. It was David's desire to remain in the presence of God every single moment of his life.

While King David prioritized the presence of God in his personal life, he later made it the priority of the entire nation of Israel.Once David became king, he hired 4,000 full-time Musicians and 288 Music Directors to establish day and night praise and worship at the temple. David was moved to prioritize praise and worship at the forefront of Israel’s calling as God’s people.

We have been inspired by the life of David to provide a space of daily praise and prayer to prioritize God’s presence here in Southern California amongst the wider body of Christ. Our desire to not only gather in the evenings, but facilitate day and night praise and prayer throughout the week.

  1. Pure adoration of Jesus. We want to adore Jesus by lifting up pure worship and praise to Him declaring who He is and what He has done. Revelations 4:10-11 says, “The twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying, ‘Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.’” This passage gives us a picture of what heavenly worship looks like. All of heaven lifts up the lamb of God is who worthy to be praised.

  2. Personal renewal and revival. We want people to experience personal renewal and revival as they lift up the name of Jesus through praise and prayer. Many people are hungry and broken because their intimacy with God needs to be rekindled. Psalm 63:4 says, “I will praise you for as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer.” We want people to personally meet with the Lord and be renewed in His Presence as they worship and cry out to the Lord.

  3. Regional renewal and revival. We want people to pray and intercede for regional renewal. We believe that corporate worship and prayer is a weapon of spiritual warfare and has the power to entire regions and the world. Nehemiah 1:4 says, “As soon as I heard these words I sat down and wept and mourned for days, and I continued fasting and praying before the God of heaven.” Upon hearing the news of the broken walls of Jerusalem and the desolation of God’s people, Nehemiah wept. His heart for God’s people combined with fasting and intercession resulted in him leading his people to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. In the same way, we hope to lead God’s people into corporate intercession and fasting for regional revival and renewal.

During each night, there will be live praise and worship for the entire two hours. Worship leaders will be adoring the Lord through praise and worship by lifting up the name of Jesus. Attendees are free to join with those leading worship or pray to God on their own. As there will be no preaching of the Word, attendees may read their Bibles during this time as well. We ask all attendees to keep fellowship and talking in the room to a minimum. Our heart’s desire is to set an atmosphere where people can come to be with God intimately.
